Back to Never Forgoten Biff Brothers

Harley Self

Harley was an active Biff Brother in the early days of the Mission. He was our first full time cook and set the bar for all to follow.

Harley was one funny guy, always ready to tell a joke. His smile and laugh were truly contagious.

 Harley was also a good musician and wrote the Mission theme song called “There Aint No Fuckin' Fish Out There”.

 I will do my best to get the words to that song together for a sing-a-long tribute to him this year on the Mission.

I can see that smile now! Harley always used to say “ I got my EYE on you” and he truly did, having only one eye, the other covered by a patch from a bout with cancer earlier in life.

 He won the dart tournament more than once and always was in the finals, earning him the nickname “BullsEYE Harley”.

Changes occurred in Harley’s life and he drifted away from the group. Not a Mission has passed without someone asking me where’s Harley?

 I can answer now; he is home at peace. I always loved him and I am saddened that I will never see that smile again in person.
